About a month after I bought an Xbox 360 for my son, we were playing Halo when the XBOX 360 decided to freeze up and crash on us!
I felt like the gaming gods were punishing me…
One second Evan and I were shooting up some grunts and the next thing I freaking see is a frozen screen with 3 flashing red lights coming from my XBOX 360 power ring.

What causes the three red lights error?
With my Xbox 360 out of commission the first thing I did was check out Microsoft’s Xbox 360 support page for troubleshooting tips on how to fix my Xbox 360. Microsoft’s suggestions were to ensure that the power supply was plugged in properly and that the console wasn’t obstructed by other things around it (causing it to over heat). After that didn’t fix the problem, Microsoft’s website said that the Xbox would have to be sent in for repair. Argh!
I wasn’t ready to ship it in just yet, so I hopped on the phone with Microsoft tech support.
After being on hold for what seemed like an hour I finally got to the bottom of the problem with a guy from India that barely spoke English.
He told me that 33% of the Xbox 360′s that were produced have a serious problem – once the motherboard reaches a certain temperature it bends and becomes distorted, causing it to lose contact with the GPU and CPU.
He said if I wanted to get it fixed I would be stuck paying $140 + shipping/Handling & Insurance. I then went on to ask him how long it would take to get my 360 back, there was a short pause…
“It’s takes 3-4 weeks sir…”
That’s CRAP! You expect better service from microsoft…
What I found!!
After hanging up with the Microsoft rep I decided to a do some more research on Google to see if anyone had found a fix.
To my surprise there were tons of sites promising a fix that could be done at home and save me some serious money as well.
Man was I in for a ride…

This guide also comes with HD videos and a great e-book, but you don’t get the free bonuses and the dual state process that comes with the James Dean 3 Red Light Fix Guide.
For about 60% of the XBOX 360 owners this guide will do just fine. It did fix my friend’s XBOX 360, however the next Xbox 360 I worked on didn’t get fixed until I tried the second stage from James Dean 3 Red Light Fix.
